Problem:

"I can't get into the game, the screen turns black and crashes out"

Answers:

1. Do you have a Diamond Monster sound card? It seems Dink attempts to load .wavs into the hardware and fails, causing strange sound related crashes.

Added 1-12-00: This fix also works with the same problem with an AWE 64!

To fix: Use the sound setup program the card comes with and set Hardware Acceleration to it's LOWEST setting.

If Dink runs fine with "dink -nosound" you know the problem IS with the soundcard.

If the sound card is NOT the problem:

2. Run DXTOOL.EXE and UNCHECK "DirectDraw Acceleration" AND "Direct3d Acceleration" and restart Dink.
